Yoga
Yoga is much more than just bendy stretches. It has the power to transform and teach you a lesson about yourself. I started to do yoga because of the stiffness I felt in my body on a day to day basis. It always felt like I needed to shake off stress and get my body moving and sweating. I am in love with the intricate poses that yoga has to offer. There is an misconception that yoga is easy, or that it doesn't really work the body out. I can say that right now, I am nowhere near capable of positioning my body into the sweaty poses and almost magical head stands, but this simple fact is what makes me want to achieve more in yoga. Yoga also helps with anxiety. It teaches you how to breathe so that you focus and keep worries off of your mind. Meditation, breathing exercises, and treatment of any body aches and pains can all be achieved with yoga. I like to follow 'Yoga with Adrienne' on YouTube. She has many videos for all level yogis. For a hand held guide, I purchased 'The Yoga Bible' by Christina Brown on Amazon.com. This book has everything from the preliminary practices to finding out what type of yoga is right for you. Yoga teaches patience like no other exercise and I am grateful to have found it.
