Buddha Bowl: My Version

I decided to try this new thing where I cook with no oils. My Buddha Bowl was created with red and white quinoa, sauteed mushrooms with red onions, a delicious tangy hummus, and a raw mixed greens salad. I would apply the oil to the mushrooms after it is done cooking and I didn't taste much of a difference, in fact it cooked faster with just a bit of added water, and the water that comes from the mushrooms naturally. This meal can take about 20 minutes to cook and is filling and satisfying. Olive oil tends to be my oil of choice so here's a list.

Reasons to not cook with olive oil:

1. Heart healthy nutrients may be cooked away when oil is heated

2. If cooking with olive oil, it has a low smoking point. it is unsuitable for temperatures over 250 degrees F.

3.Omega fats are destroyed in olive oil when cooked

4. Plenty of olive oils are not genuine, so you could be cooking an even more toxic substance.
