Fighting the Power: Against Hereditary Acne

I'll be 30 next year and I'm still dealing with the challenging affects of hereditary acne. Now, just because something is hereditary it doesn't mean you should just leave it be. I've been vegan for probably over 6 years and it has drastically changed my skin, but not all of my skin problems. In past blog post I wrote about the calming effects of oil cleansing on my skin. It closes the pores and destroys any pimples before they fully come to the surface. The trick is to find the right combination of oils for your skin type. Just eating healthy is not enough for my skin. The way in which I'm eating healthy makes a big difference, for example the intake of more water, eating mostly raw foods instead of cooked, and exercise that cause me to work up a good sweat, helps to balance my hormones and give my skin the healthy blood flow and oxygen that is needed to keep it clear.

I can't leave out the importance of supplements. I'm not a pill popper but I take a multivitamin women's supplement twice a day and it keeps the oil and acne at bay. If the multivitamin is not available, I'll go for my superfoods such as spirulina and wheatgrass. Hereditary acne was a signal that I am deficient in certain vitamins and I have to make sure that I'm watching my intake of these minerals. Key words are to find what works for you in the most natural way. Addictive chemicals and foods only make the acne worsen in my opinion. It's better to find the source of the condition than to just mask and cover it up. Happy Skin Ladies and Gents!
