Parsley Tea
Parsley is used frequently as a garnish and to make food look "presentable". I'm going to tell you why it is not only a good thing to eat parsley, but how drinking it is even better. Parsley is a good source of chlorophyll and provides vitamin A, C, K, beta carotene, calcium, folic acid, iron, manganese, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, sulfur, B vitamins 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6. The antioxidant power in parsley protect skin cells and prevents inflammation. Not only does it purify blood for clearer skin, it cleanses the liver and the kidneys. Parsley by itself makes a delightful tasting tea and adding lemon or lime gives it an extra boost and has a similar taste to pickle juice, just without all the sodium. Here is the tea:
Parsley Tea:
(Cleanse a few stalks of parsley thoroughly to make sure dirt is removed efficiently. I usually sit it in a cup of apple cider vinegar and water.)
Prepare water for tea by boiling
Add cleansed parsley to tea cup
Add juice of 1 lemon or lime
Pour hot water into the cup
Let steep for about 10 min. and then enjoy!
