The Importance of Being In Your Element
For most of the month of July I've discovered that I've been out of my element. What I mean by that is: I've been putting others before myself, dealing with the criticism of my lifestyle, taking stupid risk, and dropping all the things that I love to do in order to satisfy others. This has taken a toll on me emotionally and I've decided to get back on my duty of being myself wholeheartedly, flaws and all. I'm trying to find balance while also learning to be more unapologetic about who I am as a woman in this world. Even in this short amount of time I'm able to feel the changes in my body. It's only with self awareness that I'm able to nip the out of character behavior in the bud, and go back to taking care of my mental and physical health. We are always more in control than we think and the key is to quit complaining and take some action.
I stopped cooking, working out, meditating, and even writing in my journal. I started to develop this need for something outside of me. Be it a person, a thing, or an experience, I was looking for something that I wasn't going to find on the outside. Spirit has a way of telling you that something is not right and it's best that we listen. We can't always be around positive and influental people all day, but when we aren't we shouldn't forget that we have the power to manifest positivity and influence for ourselves. Developing positve comforts in life creates balance and makes us our best selves. Being in your element should be practiced frequently.
