Adina's Kale Chips
Kale Chips on the market are quite pricey. They range from 6 - 8 dollars for a package that will not satisfy you, and are full of the dehydrated stems that are too tough to eat. Here is a recipe where you can use one full head of kale, guaranteed to make you forget that those greasy potato chips ever existed.
Cheesy Kale Chips:
Wash one head of kale and dry off excess water and remove stems
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
To create the dry cheesy paste you will need
- 1/2 a cup of Nutritional Yeast ( I like Bragg's Nutritional yeast)
- 1 teaspoon of Himalayan Pink Sea Salt (or according to your taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon of Cayenne Pepper ( or according to your personal heat meter)
-1/2 teaspoon of turmeric
- 1 tablespoon of sunflower oil
Combine all dry ingredients first and then add the oil, mixing with a fork.
The consistency should be kind of lumpy but soft enough to spread on your kale chips.
If the paste is too wet, add more yeast. Once satisfied with the mixture, use your hands to spread the paste onto each leaf of kale.
Place covered kale onto parchment paper making sure they are spread out evenly and not overlapping too much. You want crispy chips!
Finally, put chips into oven for 20 minutes or until crispy. Enjoy!
